About School
Children are gifted with extra-ordinary abilities to explore and identify world around them. They need a place where childhood is appreciated and allowed to unfold their imagination and intelligence of courage and fortitude of practicality and skill are gradually awakened, nurtured and strengthened. We, at Good Shepherd Preparatory School try to satisfy this valuable need of each and every child by providing the atmosphere of affection, warmth and beauty and hence emotional and intellectual growth.
History
Good Shepherd Preparatory School was setup on 22nd February 1997 under the able guidance of Mr. Daniel Charan. Before starting this set-up he worked in Our LADY of FATIMA School for 26 years. He tried to expand his vision and experience among small kids. Mr. Daniel Charan wanted to provide holistic and quality education using his vast experience. The most important part of our curriculum is to prepare little petals to become flowers that spread its fragrance through out the world.

Faculty
Teamwork always scores over individual efforts. We honestly believe that Perfect team is equal to right set of individuals and the right person for the right job. The staff members are carefully selected as per their abilities to make the little ones feel loved and comfortable as well as challenged in fun and creative way. Hugging the children is a priority among the dedicated, caring and nurturing professional staff members who were selected for their diverse abilities.
Classrooms
School is comprised by air conditioned & well ventilated classrooms. Every class is organized by a capable class teacher assisted by a maid. Class learning is exciting and attractive with colorful ambience, created through colorful walls that have cartoon characters and story scenes beautifully painted on them. Comfortable designer furniture is available in every class to magnetize a child towards classrooms. Teachers apply their creativity and innovative ideas in all the interior decoration of the class. Star performer’s photos are well framed in each of the class to enhance child’s motivation.
Library
Our library is not equipped with big encyclopedias, great literature, mythological stories & well known novels, we have a huge amount of books including words with which child starts to speak. Our library is full of activity books that help parents and teachers to learn how they can put a deep sense of conceptualization in their child. We have a great stock of cassettes and audio/ visual CDs that make children’s learning enjoyable. A large collection of pictures and words encourage children to understand and explore the colors of the world.
Play Room
Our play room is a place where of various activities to enhance child’s intellectual, motor & cognitive development. We have a big collection of puzzles. Children love the soft toys kept in play room. Teachers teach various concepts like animals, vegetables etc with the help of these soft toys. Lots of group games are played in this play room that makes kids to learn playing in group, sharing things, following rules etc. This is the place where they make initial social contacts of their lives.
Play Ground
The playground is equipped with various slides, swings & see-saws. Riding bikes, tricycle & Humpty-Dumpty is the major amusement resource among our students. They develop imaginative and creative skills by making sand castles in a big frog sand box. Big bouncy, rope climbing, balancing bars, basket ball and other sports and games are also there to enhance little ones gross motor skills.
Health Checkups
The school is trying to make the society ailment free, by providing regular health checkups to all its students. The school has well qualified and competent doctors covering almost all major concerning areas of child like; ENT, dietician, dentist, paediatrician and above all a full time psychologist to handle day to day pressures. Parents can avail the opportunity to meet particular specialists like dietician, psychologist etc to satisfy their queries regarding their child’s growth. In other cases, parents are kept well informed about the concerning health issues, as directed by various health consultants. Parents are also provided with a health card at the end of the session.
Developmental Assessment
Our psychologist keeps a keen eye on every child’s development. Psychologist does individual developmental assessment of every student. A tailor-made management plan is prepared along with parents and teachers as per every child’s requirement. Parents also get counseling sessions to handle their child better.
Good Shepherd’s Kitchen
“Healthy mind in a healthy body” is what we follow at Good Shepherd. We do our best to provide our little ones, the nutritious and balanced diet. To inculcate healthy food habits, we have a clean and hygienic kitchen within the school premises. The mid day meal (optional) is cooked in a clean way maintaining required conditions. The menu for the entire month is designed in advance by a qualified and experienced dietician and sent to all parents in the beginning of every month, so as to keep them informed about the child’s school diet. The parents who don’t opt mid day meal facility also get copy of the menu.
Competitions
With the changing times, we want our children to excel in everything be it academics or co-curricular activities. Competitions like dance, fancy dress, Colouring, sports, poem recitations, story telling, etc. are organized every month to lift their confidence on stage. To boost their morale, every participant is awarded with participation certificate and prize.
Special Days
Various days like Environment Day, Earth Day, Mother’s Day etc are celebrated with great enthusiasm to sensitize little kids.
Transportation
School provides transportation facility from various destinations of the city. The school makes its best efforts to ensure the safety of the children. We have a number of vans equipped with all essential facilities.
